| The
Virgin Islands are one of the Caribbean's premier snorkel
and dive sites with approximately 90 islands, islets and cays,
and we take pride in finding the best sites. There are different
environments in which to snorkel--barrier reefs, cliffs and
mangroves to name a few. |

|
Barrier
reefs protect the islands which they surround. They are usually
on the windward sides of islands and break the waves and protect
against erosion. Fish, especially larger fish, thrive on this
fresh open ocean water.
Cliffs
usually are excellent sites for enjoying seafans and large
sponges. Octopus love hiding in the rock formations.

| Mangroves
don't look like much from the topside but they play a big
role in the underwater environment. First, they filter the
water. Second, because their roots extend down into the water
they make a perfect nursery for baby fish. The mangrove roots
grow closely together and do not allow the larger fish in
to eat the baby fish.

Leslie
has had her Red Cross Lifesaving Certification and has been
a Life Saving and swimming instructor as well as a water aerobics
instructor. She has taught swimming lessons to all age
groups - infants to seniors. This experience is valuable
when it comes to first time snorkelers. |

access off and on the boat is simple with the reverse transom,

From
St. John to Virgin Gorda walking trails abound. Walks to explore
old sugar plantation ruins and nature walks where you can see
hawks, orchids, mongoose and hermit crabs. Or climb to the top
of Norman Island's Spy Glass Hill and sit where the pirates
used to watch for approaching ships to rob. |
